How To Teach Your Child To Ride A Bike

July 8, 2013

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have stumbled across this video. We have struggled on training wheels for a year off and on - we started this technique and it absolutely works perfectly and QUICKLY. Do not doubt that this technique will work for your child. It works. It is important that your child be on a very slight hill so they can move on the bike without much effort, so they can focus on the balancing part of being on a bike. Somewhere near his 2nd birthday we had bought a kids bike from WalMart and immediately raised the training wheels so he would never rely on the the training wheels.

The push bike allows you to teach your child core stability on their bike and as they are courageous as young tots, they almost immediately learn better balance due to this bike training. Once our son had mastered pedaling on his WalMart bike, we took off the training wheels completely by the time he was 2.5 years old.

We have seen this method proven with more than our own child. Our son is now 4 years old and has been riding without training wheels and riding on an actual BMX regulated track since he was 2 years and 10 months old. That same track now has 2 other 2-3 year old girls that were taught by this same method.
